Libyan Coast Guard kills human smugglers off western coast

Four human smugglers were killed in an exchange of fire with Libyan navy off the western shores on Thursday, a navy official has declared.

Spokesman of the Libyan Navy, Brigadier-General Ayoub Qasim, said Coast Guard patrol boats clashed with heavily armed gunmen escorting an illegal immigrants’ boat after they refused to obey orders to stop.

Fuel and gas crisis committee launches land, sea, and air operation to stem smuggling in Libya

The fuel and gas committee has launched The Mediterranean Storm Operation that means to cut off the routes of international smuggling gangs that are smuggling Libyan fuel off Libyan shores and elsewhere.
 
"The operation will see a cooperation between the naval force and the air force in Libya." The committee said on Thursday.
 

Grand Mufti calls for return of Tawergha IDPs

Libya’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani said on Wednesday the issue of Tawergha IDPs is a tragedy in every sense of the word and that the Fatwa House had paid much attention to it from the very beginning.

Speaking in his weekly program on Tanasuh TV, he indicated that banning the entire people of Tawergha from returning to their homes is great injustice, demanding the Tawerghans to hand over the criminals, who committed atrocities in Misrata in 2011, to stand trial.

Clashes between Haftar's forces, Third Force erupt nearby Tamnihint airbase, Sabha

Early Wednesday morning, Dignity Operation fighter aircraft started bombing locations around Tamnihint airbase in the southern city of Sabha, according to Jamal Al-Treki, the Third Force's commander.

Later on, the Third Force, which is appointed to secure the airbase and the entire southern region, engaged in heavy clashes with Pro-Haftar armed groups led by Mohammed Ben Nayel - a staunch follower of Khalifa Haftar.
