Libyan Customs confiscates fraudulent cargo containers in Misrata

Officials in Misrata Port have seized 34 shipping containers after finding out that the customs clearance does not match the merchandise stuffed inside.

Sources from the port said the 34 containers were labeled as being full of milk cartons imported from Jordan, but customs officers found thousands of water bottles only. 

“The custom clearance showed that the cargo containers worth $4 million of letters of credit,” the sources said.

The Chairman of the fuel and gas committee of Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company, Milad Al-Hajrasi, has hailed the stance of Libyans toward the committee personnel and their support for the committee's ongoing operations.

"This operation - The Mediterranean Storm - that we have kicked off so recently aims to protect and defend the resources of Libya and fortunes of Libyans, after they had been violated by neighboring countries and international gangs." Al-Hajrasi said in press statements.

Three soldiers killed in Dignity Operation airstrike in south Libya

Three fighters from the Third Force were killed in a Dignity Operation airstrike on Taminhint Airport in Sabha on Monday, sources said.

Both the Media Office of Third Force and Boshra News Agency said the airstrike was carried out on Taminhint Airport leaving three fighters dead and seven others wounded, but the Spokesperson of Defense Ministry of UN-installed government Mohammed Al-Gosri said the three soldiers were killed in an airstrike in Samnu town, some 60 km northeast of Sabha.

Libyan Ministry of Finance explains deficits of first quarter of this fiscal year

The financial statistics that has been issued by the UN-proposed government's Ministry of Finance showed a drop in financial preparations by 30% at the first fiscal quarter of 2017, registering 8.1 billion dinars compared to 11.5 billion dinars, thus saving a a deficit-gap of 3.4 billion.

The statistics chart shows oil income of 3.03 billion dinars while it was expected to be 5.42, creating a deficit of 2.393 billion dinars (44%).
