Sabha Medical Center working disinterestedly despite city’s fragile security

The Sabha Medical Center said in a statement on Saturday that it would go on providing its health care services and receiving patients and injuries as well as carrying out surgeries despite the shaky security situation in the city.

“The center is completely impartial toward the two tribes fight in the city and we are ready to receive injuries and treat them from both sides as much as the center can manage to do so.” The statement reads.

Three Defense Ministry personnel abducted in Tripoli

The UN-proposed government’s Defense Ministry said Saturday that three of its personnel were kidnapped in Tripoli. The three men were identified as Mousa Amroni, Fadlallah Al-Shahibi, and Ali Al-Agouri.

The ministry issued a statement to confirm that it is willing to cooperate with the relevant authorities in a bid to exact the legal measures on the kidnappers.

“The relevant security authorities should assume their jobs and protect the employees who work for the government.” The statement reads.

Libya’s National Association of Municipalities picks Al-Thawadi as Chairman

The Libyan National Association of Municipalities elected the mayor of Sabrathah, Hussein Al-Thawadi, as its Chairman at a hall at Tripoli International Fair, with the participation of 28 municipalities from all over the country.

Mohammed Banoun was also elected as the rapporteur for the association.

Tobruk municipality’s shutdown carries on for 17th consecutive day as solutions falter

Tobruk municipality continues to be closed by private contracting companies for the 17th successive day in protest of the delayed payment by the municipality for the projects the firms had done in the city.

Tobruk mayor, Al-Naji Maziq, said the continuous shutdown of the municipality’s headquarters is going to badly affect the work mechanisms within the service sectors in the city, as the municipality is its highest executive power.

12 killed in fresh clashes in Sabha city

Seven people were killed and 25 others were injured on Friday after clashes renewed in Al-Minshiya neighborhood in downtown Sabha between tribal armed groups.

The clashes first erupted on Thursday, when five people were killed, which makes the total of casualties hit 12 over the last two days.

The spokesman for Sabha Medical Center, Osama Al-Wafi, said the center had declared the state of emergency and called on all of the medics to be present for assistance and treatment.

Wife of Salvation Government media official urges Al-Sirraj to unveil husband's fate

The wife of the Head of the Foreign Media Office at the Salvation Government, Jamal Zubia, called on Fayez Al-Sirraj, the Head of the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government, and his deputy Ahmed Mitig, to reveal the whereabouts of her husband after four months of abduction.

Zubia’s wife also urged the people of Misrata, where she and her husband come from, to demand her husband be released and tried justly.

Three journalists for Update: Kurdistan’s K24 reported that the three journalists were released on Saturday without giving any further details  have gone missing in Libya, the TV station announced on Saturday.

The TV channel said it lost contact on Saturday with reporter Ahmed Honer, photojournalists Ahmed Dilshad and Ali Blend who travelled to Libya to produce press material for the program (Reporter without Borders).

Martin Kobler: Presidency Council is powerless

Libya's political agreement has ended in deadlock and the Presidency Council has become powerless, PC member Ali Gotrani quoted the broker of the political agreement Martin Kobler as saying.

After his meeting with Kobler in Cairo on November 14, Gotrani, a puppet of Khalifa Haftar, told Libya Channel that the UN envoy Martin Kobler suggested selecting 15 national figures to pick a president and two deputies for the Presidency Council, which now includes nine members headed by Fayaz Sirraj.

Garda municipality appeals to government and humanitarian organizations for assistance

The mayor of Garda Al-Shatti, Hassan Matoug, urged the three Libyan governments and the humanitarian organizations in Libya to immediately assist the residents and to help out the families that were affected by the unidentified airstrikes.

Matoug said in a press statement that 20 persons were injured in the airstrikes that targeted Garda district a couple of days ago, adding that 10 houses were also damaged and the owners of the houses are still waiting for the assistance of the three Libyan rival governments in that regard.
