ICOM draws up Red List of Libyan antiquities

The International Council of Museums has issued a Red List of the Libyan archaeological objects to prevent them being sold or illegally exported.

The Libyan Antiquities Authority said the Red List includes photos and information about the archaeological pieces that are subject to robbery or smuggling so that people become familiar with them and avoid using them in any illegitimate trading.

Misrata Elders' Council says no to foreign dictations

The Misrata Council of Elders said Sunday that the solution to Libya's crisis must be purely Libyan without any foreign interference or dictation.

In a statement, the council hailed Tunisia declaration of principles between the GNC and Tobruk Parliament on December 05, saying it is a right step in the right direction that establishes a new phase for the Libyan dialogue.

The council also rejected the UNSMIL's proposed agreement until it includes the amendments of the GNC

Malaria cases detected in south Libya

Two suspected cases of malaria have been detected in Wadi Al-Shati region, the National Center of Disease Control reported on Sunday.

It said the Monitoring and Rapid Response Department of the center detected on December 05 the two malaria cases of a pregnant woman and her husband's son in Al-Disa district in Wadi Al-Shati, southwest Libya.

Rome Conference welcomes signing agreement date, eastern municipalities reject

Participants in Rome conference on Libya welcomed Sunday the announcement of Tunisia's UNSMIL meeting to sign the final Libyan political accord on December 16.

In a statement at the conclusion of the conference, 17 Arab and European countries, and representatives from the UN, EU, AU and Arab League expressed support for Skhirate dialogue to form a government of national accord as the sole legitimate government of Libya.

Libyan Revolutionary Room warns Al-Makhzoum against unauthorized signing of UNSMIL agreement

The Libyan Revolutionaries Operations Room (LROR) has warned members of political parties, especially Saleh Al-Makhzoum, who are taking part in UNSMIL-brokered dialogue, of signing any agreement on behalf of the head of GNC dialogue team Awad Abdul-Sadeq.

The LROR’ issued a statement Saturday denouncing the endeavours to swerve away from the aspirations of the Libyan people by selecting Saleh Al-Makhzoum, as a representative for the GNC and thus trying to substitute the appointed head, Abdul-Sadeq.

Congressman Al-Swaihli denounces UNSMIL's Tunisia meeting

Member of the General National Congress, Abdulrahman Al-Swaihli, a member in negotiating team, said Friday the GNC had not taken part in the UNSMIL-facilitated meeting of Libyan parties in Tunisia on Friday.

"The Friday meeting in Tunisia is an unprecedented step that had never occurred throughout the previous dialogue rounds."’ Said Al-Swaihli.

Al-Swaihli confirmed that the GNC is working to reach a balanced political solution that represents the will of Libyan people away from negative foreign interventions.

Libya's Al-Ahli Club to play friendly with Ghana's Hearts of Oak

Al-Ahli of Tripoli is scheduled to play with Hearts of Oak Accra in Tripoli Stadium on Tuesday, the first international match to be played in the country since the 2011 uprising.

The 28-member delegation of the Ghanaian club arrived Saturday evening at Mitiga Airport and is due to prepare for the encounter today.

GNC, HoR presidents to meet in Malta

GNC President Nuri Abu Sahmain arrived in Malta on Saturday to meet Tobruk Parliament President Aqailah Saleh, in a breakthrough meeting that aims to end Libya's political crisis.

The meeting is expected to take place later in the day after the arrival of Aqailah in Valletta tonight.

The meeting also aims to support the declaration of principles signed between the GNC and HoR in Tunisia on December 05.

Demonstrators show support for Libyan-Libyan Dialogue

Demonstrations were held in Tripoli, Misrata and Al-Zawiya on Friday in support of the Libyan-Libyan dialogue.

The demonstrators raised slogans showing full support for the declaration of principles signed in Tunis between the GNC and Tobruk Parliament on December 05, and rejected any foreign trusteeship in order to achieve the targets of the revolution and the aspirations of the Libyan people, according to them.
