GNC dialogue delegation returns home as its names for unity government leaked

The head of GNC delegation to the national dialogue Awad Abdul-Sadiq returned to Tripoli early on Tuesday to attend GNC sitting tomorrow, Wednesday 07, to discuss the peace process.

Abdul-Sadiq told reporters prior to his departure from Morocco that his team had met with UNSMIL chief Bernardino Leon to discuss the dialogue process.

He said other team members will stay in Morocco to show good intention to go with the dialogue until a positive solution is reached.

Tobruk parliament clings to power

The dissolved parliament of Tobruk decided on Monday to extend its mandate beyond October 20 when its constitutional term expires.

103 out of 131 members voted in favor of the extension for another six months, in violation of February Committee recommendations which stated that extension can only be done through referendum.

It has been long since last time they convened together with such a quorum as most of parliament members are staying in Egypt.

Dignity Operation spokesman: Yemen-style Arab military operation in Libya imminent

The Arab preparations to target IS and other terrorist organizations inside Libya have been completed, the spokesman of Dignity Operation declared on Saturday.

Speaking to London-based Al-Arab newspaper, Mohammad Al-Hijazi said the zero hour is now imminent to launch a major military operation to shift power balance in Libya.

"Violent storms will soon strike Libya to hit locations of IS, armed militias and Takfiri groups." He said.

Hajj pilgrims arrive home by boat to avoid highway bandits

Pilgrims from Al-Zawiya and Sabratha arrived in Tripoli on Sunday after performing the fifth pillar of Islam in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. They were expected to drive home but the so-called Tribes Army bandits, mostly from Wirshiffana tribe, were an obstacle.

The pilgrims returned home from Tripoli by boats to avoid highway kidnapping and robbery. More than 30 local residents from Al-Zawiya were abducted last week and they are still missing.

Libyan Association for Torture Victims: UAE should release Libyan detainees immediately

The Emirates security forces have committed systematic torture crimes against the Libyan detainees in the UAE, The Libyan Association for Victims and Enforced Disappearance in UAE revealed in a statement on Sunday.

The statement disclosed that the detained Libyans have undergone more than 20 kinds of physical and psychological torture so far, reiterating that the detainees are still kept off media and personal visits except for the only visit by Libya’s Ambassador in the UAE, Al-Aref Al-Nayed.

Ibrahim Jodran militia has deplored the attitude of Tobruk parliament and government for turning a blind eye to the latest attack on Al-Sidra oil port and refusing to condemn it.

The tribal militia said in a statement that they will fight terrorism alone and will only seek help from Allah.

"We don't need you, militia spokesperson Ali Al-Hasi said in the statement.

Al-Hasi accused rogue General Khalifa Haftar of lobbying the two bodies to let oil guards down.

Ain Zara mayor sacked

Members of the municipal council of Tripoli's Ain Zara neighbourhood have withdrawn confidence from the mayor Abdul-Wahid Al-Ballooq.

In a meeting on Thursday, 4 municipal members voted in favor of the dismissal and 2 others abstained.

Ali Al-Gayadi, one of the abstainers, was selected as acting mayor until a new vote is held at the Ministry of Local Government.

No reasons for the dismissal were mentioned.
