SG premier arrives in Chechnya

A salvation government delegation headed by Prime Minister Khalifa Al-Ghawiel arrives in the Chechen Republic Monday.

The high-ranking delegation was met at the airport by First Deputy Prime Minister Adam Delimkhanov, who was in Libya on Thursday to review the political dialogue process.

Al-Ghawiel's visit to Chechnya aims at discussing the current situation in Libya and inaugurating cooperation between the two countries in all fields, according to the SG.

Salvation Government lashes out at Misrata Municipality statement

The Salvation Government has deplored the recent statement of Misrata Municipality, which favoured the unity government, announced by Leon on Thursday.

In a statement on Sunday, the SG rejected Leon's government, describing it as ‘Skhirat suspicious government.
The statement said Misrata Municipal Council has encroached on the rights of state authorities represented by the SG and GNC by requesting them to support Leon's proposed government.

Kikla IDPs commemorate storming of their town

IDPs from the mountain city of Kikla staged a protest in Algeria Square of Tripoli on Sunday to commemorate the first anniversary of the storming of their town and the displacement of its citizens by Zintani militias.

More than 20.000 people have been forced to leave their town last year.

The protesters held Al-Thanni government and the dissolved parliament of Tobruk responsible for the destruction of their city.

They also called for the immediate release of prisoners in Zintani prisons.

Mitiga Hospital reports Leishmaniasis cases

Leishmaniasis disease has affected more than 100 people, Mitiga Hospital reported on Saturday.

The hospital said it received the cases on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Leishmaniasis causes skin sores and ulcers, which are generally easily treatable, but if neglected, the disease eats away at the patient’s flesh and can be fatal.

The disease is transmitted by the bite of a sand fly, and generally prevented in susceptible areas by the use of insecticidal bed nets while sleeping.

Eastern municipalities refuse unity government; threaten to announce military council

The acting mayor of Al-Bayda said on Saturday that the newly announced unity government is rejected by all municipalities in eastern Libya, calling all mayors to gather in his city's Martyr Square  today to denounce the government.

Ali Al-Trieki threatened that if their demands were not met, a military council would be announced.

Misrata municipality hails Leon's government

Misrata municipality said on Saturday it supports the announcement of unity government by UN Mission chief Bernardino Leon.

In a statement, the municipal council pointed out that the government meets the aspirations of all parties as it is entirely devoid of putschists, political extremists, and remnants of the former regime. It is also away from narrow partisan interests, it says.

I cannot stand it anymore

I cannot stand this situation anymore, tens of non-Libyans in Skhirat talking about my country’s affairs pretending that they care about it, and attempting to stop its bleeding and heal its wounds as well as killing its every pain. They are chanting, like a crazy parrot, terms of agreement and concord as well as unity. Every one of them has in their skulls a different analysis and interpretation for these humanitarian fancy terms.

Leon’s proposed names angers HoR dialogue member Buera

Federalist Abu Baker Buera, member of Tobruk parliament’s dialogue delegation, said he was astonished that his name was not included in the unity government announced by Bernardino Leon on Thursday.

Posting in his official Facebook page, Buera said upon his arrival in Morocco, he was picked up from Casablanca airport and was told to stay in a hotel away from his dialogue team because his name had been proposed for the government.

Zintan rejects Leon's proposed government, lashes out at HoR

Zintan Military Council has refused Leon’s proposed names for the government and called on Libyans to gather for a domestic dialogue that includes all Libyan parties except for the House of Representatives and the General National Congress as the mandate term of both has finished.

 “We reject all of the names proposed by Bernardino Leon for the national unity government since he singled them out according to a city-based division not according to qualifications and expertise.” The council said in a statement on Friday.
