Woman gives birth to septuplets in Zlitin

A woman in the central city of Zlitin gave birth to a set of septuplets late of Tuesday, Zlitin Hospital has announced.

The Deputy Manager of the hospital Osama Al-Sari said that the septuplets are six boys and a girl weighing between 400 to 1100 grams, pointing out that the delivery surgery was carried out by three gynaecologists and one paediatrician.

Eastern federalists call for autonomy, threaten to prevent constitution referendum

The National Federal Bloc said on Tuesday it would not recognize the upcoming constitution of the country which is being drafted by the Constituent Assembly in the eastern city of Al-Bayda.

The bloc threatened in a statement it would boycott and prevent any referendum on the new constitution once it's accomplished.

"We will establish Sanousia Emirate or Free Cyrenaica State if our demands are not met." The statement warned.

Souq Al-Jomaa residents call for decent infrastructure

Souq Al-Jomaa residents staged a sit-in on Tuesday in front of the Local Government Ministry to protest ministry inaction over the recent damage caused by heavy rain.

The protesters, including city mayor, stressed the need to solve the problems of the Municipality's infrastructure and called for activation of 2012 law 59 regarding local government.

A workshop on the UNSMIL draft agreement was held at GNC HQs in Tripoli on Tuesday.

Under the theme "The Dialogue between National Constants and International Solutions", participants, including Libya's Grand Mufti Shiekh Sadiq Al-Gharyani and Prime Minister Khalifa Al-Ghawiel, embarked on an extensive debate on the draft from political, security and religious point of view.

Ein Zara Prison attacked

An armed group attacked Tripoli's Ein Zara Prison, locally know as Al-Rwaimi, on Saturday.

The prison's management declared that drunken gunmen from Misrata's Al-Mahjoob brigade attacked the prison at night to set free one of the inmates.

Prison guards exchanged fire with the attackers and arrested four of them, the management said. One guard was also injured in the exchange of fire.

Teachers get monthly bonus

The Salvation Government has decided to add a monthly bonus to the teacher's salaries.

According to a new resolution issued on September 27, directors of educational affairs in the regions will get LYD 300, educational inspectors LYD 250, school principal LYD 250, deputy principal LYD 200, and teachers will get LYD 5 for each class.

The resolution comes amid growing demands by teachers to increase their salaries.

Haftar armed groups attack Al-Bayda anti- IS/Daesh brigade

Armed groups affiliated with rogue General Khalifa Haftar stormed on Monday the headquarters of Ali Hassan Al-Jaber brigade in Al-Bayda aiming at plundering weapons and ammunition therein. 

Sources from the city said that pro-Haftar armed groups, formed of military intelligence and Al-Bayda interior security as well as brigades from Al-Marij city, raided Ali Hassan Al-Jaber brigade earlier in the morning and got full control of it. Yet, they have not put their hands on any of its military vehicles nor its ammunition.

Libya, Turkey discuss procedures for issuing visas

Foreign Minister of Salvation Government Mohammed Al-Ghirani held talks at MOFA HQs in Misrata with the Turkish Consul Şenol Sevim over the latest measures by the Turkish government to impose visa on Libyan travellers.

Al-Ghirani said his meeting with the Turkish Consul aimed at facilitating movements of both countries' nationals.

"We proposed the Turkish side to grant permission to some tourist agencies to ease congestion at the consulate in Misrata." He said.

A meeting to review security situations in Libya held at the GNC on Monday 21. The meeting, which brought together the GNC Committee of Security and Defence Affairs, Prime Minister of Salvation Government Khalifa Al-Ghweil, Chief of Staff Jadallah Al-Obaidi and Chief of Intelligence Mustafa Noah, focused on the security situations in the country and ways and means of protecting the capital from any sabotage acts.
