After a draw with Algeria 1-1 on Friday at Tayeb Mehri Stadium in Tunisia, Libya qualified for the 2018 African Nations Championship in Kenya.

Libya won the first leg match in Algeria’s Constantine city 2-1.

Algeria scored first at the minute 23 by Sufian Ben Denka and then Libya tied the score at the last minute of the first half by Moayed Al-Lafi.

The second half saw the teams trying to seize any chance to score the winning goal of the match, but with the final whistle, Libya qualified for the fourth time in its history.

The qualification of the Libyan team is an achievement as the country’s league has been suspended for two years now.
