The Football International Federation ‘FIFA’ has imposed a one-year ban on Tripoli's Al-Ittihad Club over non-payment of a footballer's dues.

The FIFA decided to exclude Al-Ittihad from the African Union Cup qualifier competitions, freeze the club’s activities, and deprive it from participating in any foreign or local championship including friendly matches.

This decision came because of an appeal against the club forwarded to the FIFA by the club's former footballer Eihab Al-Bosaifi, stating that he hasn’t received his due salaries for two years.

The amount required by Al-Bosaifi is LYD 210,000.

The Libyan Football Federation LFF said on Tuesday that the country's Premier League would be resumed early next year.
