The son of Abdul-Basit Ghweila, the director of Tripoli Awqaf Office, died in Benghazi on Saturday.

Auwais Ghweila, 20, was severely injured 2 days ago in clashes against rogue General Khalifa Haftar's militants around Benghazi University. He died Saturday due to his injuries sustained in the clashes.

Auwais, a student in the Faculty of Medicine of Tripoli University, had joined the Benghazi-based Omar Al-Mukhtar brigade to fight the fresh military operation launched by Haftar.

Meanwhile, heavy clashes continued around Al-Sabri, Al-Talaiha, Bu Atni and Al-Hawari districts. Al-Nabaa TV reported that 38 militants from Haftar's forces were killed and 50 others wounded in the last 2 days.

Eyewitnesses from the city said warplanes of the renegade General have dropped barrel bombs on Shura Council-held areas causing tremendous damage to the infrastructure. On Friday, Dignity Operation took control of 17 February camp after intensifying airstrikes on it, forcing fighters of Shura Council to retreat.
