The Central Security Department (CSD), north Tripoli bureau, intercepted early today 441 illegal immigrants, including 12 women and children, from eight African countries.

The CSD’s spokesperson, Murad Hamza, confirmed to the Libyan News Agency (LANA) that residents of Gergaresh area in Tripoli have informed the bureau about the immigrants’ hideouts, who were preparing for their journey to Europe.

He also clarified that a force from the CSD targeted the immigrants with a raid at their hideouts that started at 1:00 a.m. and finished at 5:30 a.m. arresting all of them except for the smugglers.
