Any political agreement that exempts all parties from liability will not be accepted, General National Congress member Abdul-Rahman Al-Swaihli has declared.
"All the Libyans should know that we will not accept any political agreement that exempts all parties, especially the dissolved parliament, from the legal responsibility for the crimes committed during the past period including killings, abductions, displacement, looting and destruction." He posted on his official Facebook page.
He added that the GNC is ready to appear before any fair and impartial accountability, stressing that all the movements of the General Staff forces and the revolutionaries' battalions to secure cities and regions came in accordance with GNC decisions.
Al-Swaihli also noted that he assumes all legal responsibility and implications of being a member of the GNC, denying owning any armed brigades or leading any military operation in the country.
