The Sudanese News Agency reported that the Deputy Foreign Minister in Sudan, Abdulghani Al-Naiem summoned Monday the Libyan Ambassador to Khartoum, Mohammed Amer Sula and discussed with him the conditions of the Sudanese nationals stuck in Ganfouda district in Benghazi and the possible ways to create a safe passage to get them out of there.

The Sudanese News Agency added that the Libyan Ambassador vowed to inform the Libyan government about Sudan’s request and to make sure that it is being taken care of by the authorities so that all the Sudanese nationals trapped in Ganfouda could come out well.

On Tuesday, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry refuted the news about using its citizens in Ganfouda as human shields by the Benghazi Shura Council, which is still in control of the district despite the siege of Khalifa Haftar’s militias, disallowing many people to get out including 85 Sudanese nationals including three families.
