The military officials and attendees of the Sixth Gathering of the Libyan army considered the so-called leader of Dignity Operation, renegade General Khalifa Haftar, a war criminal.

The Libyan military officials stressed in the Tripoli-based Sixth Gathering on Wednesday that they reject the appropriation of power in all its forms.

They added that the choosing of the General Staff leadership and other sovereign posts must be based on nationalism and high qualification, adding that it must be done during the coming 30 days.

The military staffers also reaffirmed that they will exert their utmost efforts to train and progress as well as breath a new life into the Libyan army.

“All the Libya Army’s belongings, headquarters, and other properties must also be returned to the authority of the military institution, and all the verdicts pertaining to those issues must be delayed until the army leadership is appointed.” The military officials’ statement reads.

The Sixth Gathering of the western military figures was attended by the Head of the High Council of State, Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, along with the Head of the UN-proposed government’s Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj and the Defense Minister-designate Mihdi Al-Barghathi.
