Armed clashes broke out in the Libyan capital of Tripoli early on Saturday. The 6th Force of the Central Security Agency and the Joint Force raided Camp 77 in Al-Soor Street to arrest a wanted gunman.

The camp is under the control of an armed brigade and one of its fighters is accused of killing Abdul-Motlab Abu Rqibah, a fighter from the 6th Force who was killed on March 12.

Reports say there was an agreement to hand over the killer to the authorities, but the armed brigade in Camp 77 rejected at the last moment.

The camp was seized by the 6th Force and the Joint Force while the gunmen were expelled. There were no reports of casualties.

A security official refuted some news that claims that the fighting was political in order to pave the way for the UN-imposed government to enter Tripoli.

"Today's clashes have nothing to do with political orientations or the efforts to allow accord government to enter Tripoli." The official said.
