The member at the Tobruk-based House of Representatives from Misrata, Mohammed Al-Raeid said the commander of the HoR’s army, renegade General Khalifa Haftar has become dismissed once the HoR approved the political agreement in Morocco’s Skhirat, where the agreement stated that the Presidential Council of the UN-proposed government is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.

Talking to the Egyptian Youm Al-Sabee newspaper, Al-Raeid said 90% of the HoR members do not want Aqilah Saleh to be the Speaker, saying there must be a meeting outside Tobruk in order to dismiss Saleh.

“Saleh should retire as he is singing off-key and many of his supporting MPs have ditched him.” He added.

“It is not true that Tripoli is not secure, it is safe and what goes on in the capital is some demonstrations in protest of the lack of services. Many eastern MPs live in Tripoli and are moving around freely.” Al-Raeid explained.

He also said that Al-Sirraj showed that he is ready to accept the idea of the proposed reshuffle for the UN-proposed government if was put forward officially.

Saleh doesn’t want the Presidential Council to be like it is now, he wants to be the Commander in Chief of the armed forces and wants the Foreign Ministry portfolio to go to the eastern region, Al-Raeid elaborated, adding that the east has three sovereign portfolios out of five, namely: Justice, Finance and Defense.
