The Radisson Blu Hotel in Tripoli hosted Wednesday the establishing of the Libyan Children's Parliament that will be composed of 202 children chosen from all of the 101 Libyan municipalities.

The Head of the organizing committee of the parliament, Aisha Al-Araibi, said the committee will send invitations for all the municipalities to pick two children members for each one, adding that the first meeting will be held on November 26 in Tripoli.

“The children members will be replaced every year and they will be tasked with defending the rights of their peers in all around the country.” Al-Araibi added.

Many Arab countries such as Morocco, Yemen, Lebanon, and Egypt, established such children parliaments and tasked them with defending the rights of children.

The Arab League also formed the Arab Children's Parliament back in 2005.
