The General Manager of the Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte, Mohammed Al-Sariti, said Zamzam Hospital, in the village of Zamzam, was opened Tuesday with a 60 beds capacity and will be providing health care services for the areas liberated from IS in Sirte and its suburbs.

Al-Sariti said the Zamzam Hospital will be a temporary alternative to the Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte until full control of Sirte is pronounced and after the special operations room of the Health Ministry gives a permit for entering downtown Sirte and reopening the hospital.

The hospital that is 120 km away from Sirte downtown will shoulder some medical burden with the Sirte field hospital and will allow people to save some kilometers when seeking treatment in the vicinity of Sirte city.

“We asked all the medics of Ibn Sina Hospital to come to work in Zamzam Hospital until the Ibn Sina Hospital is reopened.” Al-Sariti added.
