The General Director of the Libyan Education Facilities Authority (EFA) Samir Koko, signed a cooperation protocol with UNICEF that will focus on enhancement of educational environment inside schools as well as raising the bar of the educational services.

"The protocol will allow the UNICEF and Libya's EFA to organize several joint actions and hence boost and develop the work and services of the EFA inside schools and educational institutions," said Hussein Al-Alem, UNICEF's representatives in Libya.

He added that the EFA will also have the chance to benefit from international expertise in order to set new goals for the status of quality of education in Libya.

EFA's General Director also added that they will make the best use of all the items of the protocol, saying that they will work on adding more items that are in line with the EFA's work and policy.

"The signing came after a previous meeting between the EFA and UNICEF representatives and after the EFA officials took a close look at the protocol's items." Koko explained.

UNICEF expressed earlier its desire to build bridges with the Education Ministry and the Education Facilities Authority in Libya to focus on children's rights and education services.
