Production at El Sarir oil field in east Libya was totally disrupted on Monday due to the closure of Hariga terminal in Tobruk, bringing the country's current 220.000 bpd crude output to only 55.000 bpd.

El Sarir is considered to be the largest in Libya with an output of 100,000 barrels per day.

The closure of Hariga terminal by Petroleum Facilities Guard over pay has also reduced crude production at Misallah field to 10.000 bpd out of its current 75.000 bpd capacity.

Both fields are pipelined to Hariga terminal and operated by the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), a subsidiary of the state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC).
