The Libyan American Public Affairs Council (LAPAC) called on Derna residents to provide it with details about the attacks and airstrikes carried out by Khalifa Hafatr’s militias and the damage they caused including the siege.

On Facebook, LAPAC said Amnesty International contacted the US Department of State to inform it about the latest in Derna based on its information, saying the American officials showed interest in the humanitarian situation in the city and are now trying to take some measures in that regard.

“We’re exerting effort now to document the situation in Derna in coordination with the humanitarian agencies in there and the US officials as well as Amnesty International.” LAPAC added.

It indicated that there will be a meeting soon between Amnesty International officials and US Department of State officials in which there will be a review of the details collected and documented regarding the status quo of Derna.
