A militia group loyal to rogue General Khalifa Hafter has refused to resume oil exports from the oil crescent region in response to the Thursday meeting of UN chief Martin Kobler with Ibrahim Jodran in Ras Lanouf.
Commander of so-called Marada Operation Room, Yousif Al-Zuwawi, said they won't allow crude oil to be pumped to the ports, which are under the control of Jodran armed groups, claiming that the oil fields are all under the control of Khalifa Hafter and House of Representatives.
"We will fight anyone who tries to reopen the oil fields and ports," he threatened.
Meanwhile, the High Council of Oil in Al-Wahat Region, where most oil fields are located, said they won't allow re-exportation of oil without permission from Tobruk-based House of Representatives and the oil corporation of Al-Thanni government. The council is loyal to Khalifa Hafter's Dignity Operation.
Ibrahim Jodran agreed after his meeting with Martin Kobler to pump oil once again via the fields of which his forces are in control.
Sources said the agreement was reached after the UN-installed government agreed to pay LYD241 million to Jodran armed groups, known as Petroleum Facilities Guard.
Ajdabiya mayor Salem Jodran, brother of Ibrahim Jodran, confirmed that the agreement to reopen the ports ensures the rights of PFG employees and their salaries. He said the previous governments had marginalized the PFG.
